Press release from the issuing company

Wayne, PA – TekniPlex Consumer Products, a globally integrated provider of innovative solutions through materials science and manufacturing technologies, has named DeAnn Umland and Johan Laureys as leaders of its newly formed Integrated Performance Solutions (IPS) segment.

Umland, who joined TekniPlex in early 2021 as Vice President of Market & Strategy Development, Beauty, and Home Packaging, will serve as Vice President & General Manager, Americas. Before joining TekniPlex, she built a 30-year history in leadership roles in global sales, supply chain, marketing, and global strategic planning, while effectively managing cross-functional teams for AptarGroup, Inc. Umland has a Master of Business Administration from Marquette University in Milwaukee, and a Bachelor of Business Administration in finance from the University of Wisconsin.

Laureys, who joined TekniPlex more than 25 years ago, will serve as Vice President & General Manager, Europe, Middle East, & Asia. Laureys has served since 2017 as Managing Director of TekniPlex Europe and concurrently as Vice President of the global dispensing business unit. He also serves as Managing Director of ATI, Milan. Laureys holds a Master’s Degree in Agricultural Engineering from Ghent University, Belgium, and a Business Strategy Degree from SDA Bocconi, Milano, Italia.

The new IPS segment focuses on the sealing and dispensing needs of various sectors, including household, personal care, and beauty products. It unites the capabilities of two TekniPlex legacy companies: TriSeal, whose materials science-based liner and lidding solutions and automation technology solutions address ever-changing market needs from sustainability to unique barrier solutions; and Action Technology, which has developed over 100 unique rubber and plastic formulations – including gaskets, dip tubes, and rubber bulbs – designed to meet critical performance requirements in the pressurized and non-pressurized dispensing pumps market.

“We are very excited to announce the leadership of our newly formed IPS segment,” said Eldon Schaffer, CEO of TekniPlex Consumer Products. “Both DeAnn and Johan have impressive international industry experience. Their teams will be charged to develop and introduce new innovative sealing and dispensing solutions that help our customers win in the market. These new TekniPlex solutions will ensure that customers benefit from our ability to design sustainable, integrated, next-generation packaging concepts that strengthen brands and enhance consumer experiences.”
