Morgana Systems, a Plockmatic International company, has announced the release of the Morgana BM4000 Series of bookletmakers. Heralded as a new kind of bookletmaker, these products can produce both Letter-sized landscape and 11inch x 11inch booklets, and offers either corner or edge stapling as standard, plus the option of the unique SquareBack finish.

The Morgana BM4000 Series can staple and fold booklets of up to 140 pages (BM4035) or 200 pages (BM4050). From 4.1 x 5.8inch size booklets up to Letter-sized landscape, and the 11inch x 11inch format, the BM4000 is a versatile booklet maker designed to work with low to mid volume digital production printers. It delivers booklets of exceptional quality, and the ability to feed long printed sheets means that it can produce a wide variety of work, including the Letter-sized landscape format – a product that is becoming increasingly popular. Users can additionally produce corner stapled and edge stapled documents which is still a hugely popular requirement, along with regular spine stapling.

Booklets of up to 200 pages can be either hand fed in the most basic configuration or fed by the Morgana VFX high-capacity dual bin feeder. Another option is the Crease and Side Trim module (CST) which allows full bleed production with no need to side trim sheets on the guillotine prior to production. The system supports printed sheets of up to 26inch long (without the CST creasing and side slitting module) or 24.4inch (with CST). Bar code reading can also be added to the feeder to ensure set integrity or for variable data or variable-sheet-count booklets.

A completely new design, the combined square folding and face trimming unit has been produced in a single compact module. High performance quality square folding functionality ensures a high-quality booklet on a wide range of media and booklet thickness.

The high-capacity belt stacker is a practical option for more production-oriented sites. It can be configured straight or in a 90-degree angle, and attaches after the standard output tray. This allows for long unattended runs and stacks up to 1,000 Letter-sized booklets of four pages.

Heavy Duty Stapling
The heavy-duty staple mechanism designed for durability, and is maintenance free thanks to a patented solution that eliminates periodic service intervals. With its adjustable staple and fold position the BM4000 series has a patented “set positioning mechanism”. This allows the operator to adjust the staple position in the direction of travel via the intuitive user interface.

Vacuum Feeder
The Morgana VFX is a two-tray high-capacity Vacuum Feeder, capable of efficiently feeding a wide range of paper types, and weights, with sheets up to 26inch. The unit is equipped with highly automated vacuum feeding technology specifically designed to handle the widest range of pre-printed media. The Automatic Tray Switching feature enables long unattended runs, and enables the loading of empty trays during a run to achieve maximum productivity.

The BM4000 bookletmaker range will be available from 1st September 2022.
