Tekgraf & Howtek Announce Distribution Agreement

Press release from the issuing company

VERNON HILLS, Ill., April 10 Tekgraf, Inc. (Nasdaq: TKGF) and Howtek, Inc. (Nasdaq: HOWT) today announced an agreement where Tekgraf, a market leader in the distribution of computer graphics technologies, has primary distribution rights throughout the United States for Howtek's industry-leading line of HiResolve professional, high resolution drum scanners for the wide format printing, publishing, photography and prepress markets. Tekgraf will distribute Howtek's HiResolve 8000 and HiResolve Sprint drum scanners. Designed to meet the needs of uncompromising graphic arts professionals in wide format printing, pre-press, digital printing and photographic applications, Howtek HiResolve drum scanners use high-performance photo-multiplier technology to achieve resolutions up to 8,000 dots per inch over the scanner's entire 11.5" by 12" imaging drum. Operating at 16 bits per channel (48 bit color), with a dynamic range of 0-4.2, the HiResolve scanner captures accurate detail within shadow areas, and can precisely digitize fine lines and subtle or extreme color transitions without flare or softening of color boundaries. Howtek's patented auto calibration and autofocus technologies improve scanning speed and throughput, and reduce the need for repeat scanning and rework. With a compact design and small footprint, these scanners are designed to offer desktop convenience and flexibility. "Tekgraf is looking forward to marketing the Howtek HiResolve line of professional drum scanners," stated William Rychel, Tekgraf's President and CEO. "These products offer exceptional benefits to customers using wide format printers and uncompromising graphics professionals, which makes them a good fit with our product offerings."
