Cahners and 58k.com Announce Agreement to Provide Open Market for Commercial Print Jobs

Press release from the issuing company

NEW YORK, April 10, 2001. Cahners Business Information and 58k.com today announced an agreement under which 58k will power printmarketplace.com’s open market for commercial print jobs. Printmarketplace.com is Cahners' emerging marketplace and community for printers and graphic arts professionals. "Our vision for printmarketplace is to create a highly efficient exchange where printing companies will leverage Cahners resources to find new business opportunities and solutions,” says Shaun Kilfoyle, Group Publisher, Cahners Printing, Converting & Creative Group. "58k fits perfectly with that vision. By building this capability in printmarketplace, we feel printers, suppliers and print buyers can all benefit. Printers will be able to find new customers, and suppliers and print buyers will streamline their process. We believe this is a no-risk, win/win opportunity." "Our partnership with Cahners is an important development for 58k and represents an important milestone in achieving an open, neutral marketplace that serves the interests of printing companies," says Richard Robb, 58k's CEO. "We are extremely gratified that so significant a marketing force as Cahners Business Information shares our vision and will join forces with us in making it a reality." 58k will continue to operate its European market at www.58k.com, as well as its private-label marketplaces for large corporations and its other lines of business. Over the next few weeks, Cahners and 58k will announce a new pricing structure that will significantly reduce overall costs to participating printers.
