RadTech Gets Back to Business in Orlando

Press release from the issuing company

Best Paper Awarded

Chevy Chase, MD – With a sold-out exhibit floor and packed technical sessions, the RadTech biennial conference and exhibition met in mid-May in Orlando, Florida. For the first time, the event was co-located with activities from the Photopolymer Additive Manufacturing Alliance, a new 3D printing group focused on technology development, in collaboration with the National Institutes of Standards and Technology.

With a focus on new process and material development and sustainability, the event attracted a large percentage of first-time attendees. "Our exhibitors report more end users than ever in attendance, with nearly 90% saying that they saw new customers," says Mickey Fortune, the RadTech Executive Director for Education and Outreach, and Event Director. "The RadTech community embraced the event to renew acquaintances and welcome new technology developers."

With Conference awards for sustainability and innovation announced prior to the event, the RadTech Technical Committee selected the best papers onsite. The Conference Best Paper was awarded to Christopher Cayer, Senior Chemist, Bomar, entitled: Performance characteristics of UV/EB Curable Oligomers Utilizing Tin Alternative Catalysts. The Best Conference Student paper was awarded to Whytneigh Duffie, South Dakota School of Mines & Technology, for her paper on Additive Manufacturing of Novel Surface-Eroding, Non-Swelling Anhydride Resins. "With over 80 presented papers representing a wonderful range of scientific and application research, selecting our Best Papers is always a challenge," says Susan Bailey, President of RadTech, Michelman. "Our award winners truly embody the excitement from our Conference, representing important new innovation, and enthusiasm from new researchers delivering next level UV+EB technology"
