Trade Litho Upgrades Capabilities With Installation of Komori Lithrone G40 advance Press

Press release from the issuing company

Rolling Meadows, IL—Komori America—Komori America announces that Trade Litho, a wholesale printing company and long-time Komori customer, has installed a fully-equipped, 40-inch, six-color Lithrone G40 advance (GL640 advance) offset press with coater to enhance its capabilities and capacity. Trade Litho offers fast and reliable turnaround of high-quality printing to a roster of outside sales customers that depend on the company for a competitively priced, high level of products that provides value to its customers. As a union company, Trade Litho is often the chosen printer for election printing and mailing where time is of the essence. The company chose to invest in the GL640 advance for its enhanced automation that is designed to combine high productivity and print quality with easy operation.

“We saw massive labor savings with the intuitive technology of our current Komori press, now 16 years old. I now expect to see massive labor savings again with this new press because it has even more to offer,” said John Lompa, owner, Trade Litho. “The operator-friendly platform reduces touchpoints, saving both time and labor and the advanced control system, along with the other enhanced automated features that make it possible to get to color quickly, also saves on both labor and paper usage. I know we can’t help but meet our goal to reduce production time and increase efficiency.”

The Komori advance series of presses offers a maximum printing speed of 16,500 sheets per hour and delivers stable high-speed operation with a wide range of common commercial print stocks, accepting sheets from ultra-thin to thick. The automated features of the GL640 advance include the fully automatic plate-changing system (APC) that cuts makeready time in half and the KHS-AI integrated control system. KHS-AI is Komori’s productivity improvement system that optimizes various press presets by self-learning according to changes in the machine, environment and substrates and aids in high-speed start up.

“Trade Litho has always been a great partner to Komori and John’s enthusiasm for what the GL640 advance will offer his business is exciting to us,” said Charlie Lahr, manager of inkjet solutions for Komori America. “We look forward to supporting Trade Litho as it delivers a new standard of excellence for meeting the demands of high-quality printing.”
