Xaar Displays Packaging Inkjet Solutions at Pakex 2001

Press release from the issuing company

Cambridge, England; April 2, 2001 - Visitors to the Xaar stand at Pakex 2001 can see Xaar's piezoelectric printhead technology demonstrated on the following inkjet print packaging solutions: AD+Print System from AssiDomän Packaging LegiJet ML500 inkjet coding system from Weber Marking Systems Stand Alone Inkjet System from Champion Imaging Systems Ink Jet-Kerajet(R) ceramic tile printing system from Ferro The AssiDomän AD+Print System, an 'end-of-line' industrial packaging printing machine, is unlike other systems. The AD+Print solution uses Xaar XJ500 printheads at a resolution of 180 dpi to print four-color and spot color, as well as variable data such as barcodes, 'best before' dates and graphics onto cases or trays while still in flat sheet form. At Pakex, the system will be shown printing high quality barcodes and variable data directly onto egg-packaging cartons. The XJ500 printheads, using oil based inks, have enabled AssiDomän to produce high quality, 'smooth' looking print previously unattainable with other manufacturers' printheads. Jan Fineman, Chief Executive Officer, Xaar explains, "The packaging sector represents a core part of our industrial printing business. Our XaarJet printheads offer wider width, high resolution printing and provide new opportunities for vendors to create innovative products. The latest inkjet solutions can be seen on not only our stand but also throughout the show on our partners' stands."
