The event for partners and customers of Heidelberger Druckmaschinen on April 7, 2022 attracted over 100 visitors to the Print Media Center in Wiesloch. News from POLAR: All machines in the showroom are now equipped with the new intelligent knife from hagedorn, IntelliKnife.

Numerous customers and interested parties attended the POLAR presentation in the morning. Carsten Schaller and Sven Schubert from POLAR Mohr jointly presented the AirGo Jog and PACE systems. These have now been fully equipped with IntelliKnife, as have all the machines in Wiesloch since April. On large screens, the audience could marvel at the functions in real time: number of cuts, condition of the knife, knife data and more - with IntelliKnife, the cutting process is precisely monitored and optimized.

The implementation of the technology at the Print Media Center in Wiesloch is another milestone for the joint project between POLAR Mohr and hagedorn. The topic of automation has already played a major role for the manufacturer of high-speed cutters from Hofheim for several years and will be further advanced by IntelliKnife. In the future, all POLAR high-speed cutters will be equipped with the intelligent knife. It can also be retrofitted to older machines.

Increased efficiency and effectiveness IntelliKnife is the first networkable knife on the market. State-of-the-art production data acquisition (PDA) using RFID chips provides the customer with comprehensive insights into production processes and offers an ideal basis for optimization. The intelligent knife from hagedorn plays an elementary role in holistic networking for postpress. POLAR Mohr is technology partner and was involved in the development and implementation. "We are very pleased that this great solution is now also present in Heidelberg. With IntelliKnife, we offer our customers even more options for digital process analysis and thus optimal operation of POLAR equipment. This is our response to the clear signals in the market to make existing machines "digitally transparent" as well“, says Hendrik Kneusels, Head of Sales and Marketing at POLAR Mohr.
