Canon Inc. to Sponsor the Asian Games Hangzhou 2022

Press release from the issuing company

MELVILLE, NY – Canon Inc. announced that the company has signed a partnership agreement to become a sponsor for the Asian Games Hangzhou 2022, organized by the Olympic Council of Asia and the 19th Asian Games Hangzhou 2022 Organizing Committee. This year’s games, the 19th Asian Games, will be held from September 10 to 25 in Hangzhou, People’s Republic of China.

First held in 1951, the Asian Games is an international sports competition hosted every four years and features countries from the continent of Asia. In 2022, approximately 10,000 athletes from 45 countries and regions will compete in 482 events across 40 sports.

Much like previous sporting competitions such as the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta and Palembang, Canon will provide behind-the-scenes support to members of the press. Canon will deliver camera and lens maintenance services and product loans to the press while awaiting repairs, to help ensure little downtime for professionals capturing the top-class athletes competing at the pinnacle of their sport. This support also extends to the recently announced high-speed EOS R3 Full-Frame Mirrorless Camera, the latest offering from Canon to help meet the needs of sports photographers.

Additionally, Canon will be providing event management the full support of its breadth of products and services, ranging from input and output products—including cameras, lenses, video camcorders, broadcast equipment, copiers, multifunction devices, and printers—to medical equipment.
