HUDSON, N.H., March 22 -- Presstek, Inc. (Nasdaq: PRST), a leading provider of digital laser imaging technology today announced that it has completed the primary buildout of its growing European distributor network with the addition of GEEG Estudos Graficos SA of Portugal. GEEG Estudos Graficos SA is the 15th Presstek distributor to be added to its network of distributors that support Presstek's range of DI(R) and CTP products. The network now has distributors that cover an area from Finland to Italy and from Portugal to Germany. Worldwide Sales Manager for Presstek, Peter Bouchard, confirmed the operational launch of the newly completed distributor network at a recent kick-off meeting of all European distributors held in Rome. "Having a fully- operational network of DI and CTP professionals supporting our products across Europe is an important step in the growth of Presstek," Mr. Bouchard stated. "It means we can focus on meeting our goal of becoming the leading DI and CTP specialist in this important global market." Hosted by Italian distributor, DIgraph S.r.L., the two-day kick-off event in Rome included a day of briefing and product demonstrations followed by a site visit to Italian printer, Eurograf Sud S.r.L., where the first Dimension400 in Italy is installed and operational. Renaat Desiere, who joined Presstek as European Regional Sales Manager in 2000, has been largely responsible for the European expansion. Mr. Desiere added: "The European marketplace is a high priority for Presstek. There is a growing demand for our technology, driven by the customer's need to reduce costs, raise productivity, shorten production schedules and increase efficiencies. Presstek's Anthem plates also offer compelling value because of their chemical-free functionality." The new network of distributors will concentrate on establishing and supporting Presstek's Dimension CTP series as well as the company's new Anthem thermal offset plates that were launched in Europe at Drupa 2000 in Dusseldorf in May last year.
