Prismaflex UK Partners with TAYA Gaining Certifire - TS62 Rating for Printed Kavalan Banners and Building Wraps

Press release from the issuing company

Highest level 5 fire resistance certification will be replicated across Prismaflex Group’s international subsidiaries

Prismaflex UK; Newhaven, East Sussex–Prismaflex UK has announced that it has become the first Print Service Provider in the world to gain Certifire - TS62 rating for its printed PVC-free Kavalan banners and building wraps. Working hand in hand with CMYUK to achieve the PVC Free TS62 material certification with Warrington fire, Prismaflex printed the accredited Kavalan materials and the fire rating was achieved using our specific in-house print process and fire retardant inks on the Kavalan Spiderweb 300 & Kavalan Sunlight Weldable materials.

The Certifire - TS62 accreditation takes into account how the inks, printing processes and specific materials used by Prismaflex UK – Kavalan Sunlight Weldable Frontlit Banner and PVC-free Kavalan Spiderweb 300 Mesh – work together to achieve the highest fire-safety solution recognised by worldwide regulatory authorities.

Now Prismaflex UK can guarantee that any printed Kavalan Sunlight Weldable or Kavalan Spiderweb Mesh installed on scaffolded buildings, construction sites, plus any other promotional and branding applications using banner or mesh comply with the most stringent safety performance specifications.

Certifire - TS62 is awarded by Warringtonfire, an independent third-party testing, inspection and certification specialist. Matthew Dale, Principal Certification Engineer, Warringtonfire, said, “Certifire has become the industry standard for fire safety certification, even where there is already a mandatory market requirement such as CE marking. Choosing Certifire means choosing the mark of a reputable third-party certification body, and gives assurance as to the performance of the products. We are delighted to bestow such a well-deserved accreditation on Kavalan Sunlight Weldable and Kavalan Spiderweb 300.”

This Level 5 certification is the latest in a string of top-level ratings achieved by Kavalan that includes stringent environmental standards, print performance, strength, weld and tear tests.

Vincent Lin, Vice President, TAYA Groups, said, “Kavalan is upholding its reputation as a trailblazer, setting our products apart by acquiring the respected Warringtonfire Certifire certification which will become a mandatory requirement for scaffolding and building wrap projects in the future. We are always looking for ways to substantiate the quality and sustainability of the Kavalan range, from our rigorous Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) assessments, the secondary BS3424 Pt 4.6 Tensile Strength certifications for Kavalan Spiderweb 300 and Kavalan Sunlight Weldable, and now Certifire - TS62 , all of this compounds Kavalan’s unrivalled value proposition.”

Prismaflex UK is one of ten international subsidiaries of the Prismaflex Group, which in the last 30 years has become the market leader in the design and manufacture of advertising supports and wide format digital printing solutions. Headquartered in Lyon, the Prismaflex Group has plans to roll out the Certifire - TS62 Kavalan certification across its divisions, many of which use identical digital printing equipment, inks and production methods.

Steven Swanepoel, Managing Director, Prismaflex UK said, “Prismaflex UK is proud to have been involved in this process with TAYA. This stringent fire-resistant certification is the ultimate in assurance. Recent tragic events have put fire-safety at the top of the agenda for all scaffolding building wraps and supersized banners. Clients are demanding this level of assurance and we are delighted we can offer this level of service.”

Dave Cowen, National Sales Manager, Prismaflex UK added, “Kavalan looks, feels, and performs just like traditional PVC but with none of the eco malignance. It delivers safety and was designed with responsible end of life disposal in mind. It really is what clients have been asking for and there’s really no excuse not to use it. It helps brands and corporates deliver on their sustainability targets in the knowledge that the health and safety aspects are right up there as well.

“Printing processes and inks were key when we achieved previous accreditation for our work on London Underground. Once again, the TS62 status given for our particular inks, print processes and specified Kavalan materials sets us apart, making us a trusted certified partner for all printed construction coverings, building wraps and giant banner applications.
