Toronto, ON – Yesterday, Gordon Griffiths and Bob Dale were honoured at the 15th annual Canadian Printing Awards. Recognized for a wealth of contributions to the graphic arts industry, Gordon Griffiths received the John A. Young Lifetime Achievement Award. His partner Bob Dale was also honoured, receiving the Community Leader of the Year Award for initiating a mentorship program for Ryerson GCM students. The awards were presented at yesterday’s virtual awards gala which recognizes projects, designs, companies, and individuals that pursue print excellence and innovation.

The John A. Young Lifetime Achievement Award acknowledges an individual who has made significant contributions to the Canadian printing industry over a 35-plus-year career. With over 50 years in print, Gordon Griffiths has led several large Canadian and international graphic communications companies to achieve significant success and overcome challenges. Included are: Cenveo, Quebecor, Ronalds Printing, and St. Joseph Printing; an innovator, he founded Pareto and Connecting For Results.

Gordon is acknowledged for his dedication to putting people first. In his career, he made it a priority to save jobs where possible and treat employees fairly. One key to his success early in his career, was his recognition of the major contributions of women, at a time when men primarily dominated the industry. Supporting the community, Gordon was chair of a capital committee successfully raising money to expand a York Region Youth Centre. He has made contributions to Eva’s Phoenix, Junior Achievement, and Ryerson GCM as an advisor, and has helped to support United Way.

The Community Leader of the Year Award recognizes an individual whose services/actions have made a meaningful contribution or impact on their community. Dedicated to serving the community, Bob Dale initiated the Print Wisdom mentorship program to help students transition from school to the workplace. The program connects Ryerson GCM student with print professionals to help provide industry knowledge and support in career exploration. With COVID-19 and a transitioning workforce, this program was designed to assist in nurturing young people and to support the industry for future success.

“It is an honour to receive the Lifetime Achievement Award. I’ve always been passionate about this business and the people in it. This award means a lot to me,” said Gordon Griffiths, CEO, Connecting For Results.

“It is an honour to receive the Community Leader of the Year Award,” said Bob Dale, COO, Connecting For Results. “I’ve always been enthusiastic about graphic communications and am grateful to give back and support the future of the industry.”
