On Sunday 12th September over 12,000 runners took part in Brighton Marathon, the UKs second largest marathon. The event normally takes place in April however due to social distancing measures the event was moved to September, having been cancelled altogether in 2020. The event will be welcomed by the UK print industry as it signals a return of large events so desperately needed to help protect UK jobs.
The official print partners for the event, yourprintpartner.co.uk, supplied over 4km of course branding, as well as all the flags, banners, signage, floor graphics, gantry wraps and crew clothing for the event.
“The pandemic has impacted the industry hard – we’ve seen lots of really established businesses close their doors for good” said Stuart Maclaren, CEO of Your Print Partner. “In part thanks to the exposure from helping support Brighton Marathon weekend, we’ve now had more enquiries in the past 2 weeks than we had in the previous 12-months.”
At Brighton Marathon, Your Print Partner also helped to brand the events race village; a temporary area set up on the beach where runners would collect their race packs. With over 70,000 members of the public expected to pass through the event village, it had information points, marquees for sponsors and retailers, as well as hospitality facilities. Using creative branding solutions, foot traffic could be directed through the event village, which allowed the limited volunteer workforce to be used in other areas.
Tom Naylor, Event Director for Brighton Marathon Weekend commented “We have been working with YPP (Your Print Partner) for a number of years and they always manage to go over and above the support you would expect from a supplier. They have never failed to deliver the best quality print while also meeting tight deadlines and last minute orders. The Brighton Marathon Weekend looked absolutely fantastic in 2021 all thanks to YPP.”
