Standard Announces AF-408/TV-406F Folder

Press release from the issuing company

Small-format Folder Handles Wide Range of Fold Patterns with Ease

Andover, Mass.  – Standard Finishing Systems, a leading supplier of post-press and paper handling solutions, recently announced an addition to their line of automated folding solutions: the Standard Horizon AF-408/TV-406F Small-format Folder. This fully automated, 8-buckle folder with an operator-friendly, automated setup can manage a wide range of simple or complex fold patterns, especially for the insert and pharmaceutical markets.

Each section of the AF-408/TV-406F Folder is set automatically via the improved color touchscreen controls, and the system’s memory can store up to 200 fold patterns for quick and easy setup of simple and repeat jobs. The addition of a new scoring navigator helps to reduce setup time even further.

Separate feed and delivery counters provide accurate piece production for critical jobs like pharmaceutical inserts, and two fold plates in the initial folding section expand the number of folds that can be performed prior to cross-folding or when running the TV-406F right angle section in parallel.

The folder supports sheet sizes from 1.97” x 3.94” up to 16.92” x 25.98”. The AF-408/TV-406F can run at up to 590 fpm, and the suction head can run up to 30,000 cycles per hour.

“The AF-408/TV-406F is an exciting addition to our line of folders,” said David Reny, Executive Vice President, Standard Finishing Systems. “This is a fully-automated system that can handle a wide range of simple or complex applications while still executing at the high level of precision required by the pharmaceutical and insert market. We’re looking forward to showcasing the versatility of this folder at industry events and on our demonstration floor.”
