Monadnock Paper Mills Launches New Swatchbook Dedicated to the Art and Craft of Fine Printing Papers

Press release from the issuing company

Sustainably manufactured premium uncoated papers deliver industry-best beauty, printability, and consistency

Bennington, N.H. – Monadnock Paper Mills, Inc., the oldest continuously operating paper mill in the United States, is pleased to offer the availability of a new swatchbook dedicated to its industry-leading virgin fiber fine printing papers.

Monadnock’s fine printing paper portfolio is sustainably manufactured and sets the industry standard in uncoated papers with beauty, printability, and consistency. The grades are alkaline pH and buffered to achieve archival longevity and crafted to the paper-longevity standards of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI). Made in the United States, they are FSC® certified (FSC C018866), manufactured carbon neutral (VERs), and made with 100 percent renewable Green-e certified wind powered electricity (RECs) under a third-party certified ISO 14001 Environmental Management System.

“There’s a certain practical magic seeing ink dance on our fine printing papers,” says Lisa Taylor, Vice President Sales and Marketing for Monadnock. “We’re thrilled to share this premium swatchbook -- it’s a convenient and beautiful resource for the design community, brand marketers, book publishers, and commercial printers looking to achieve superior results with these time-tested offerings.”

Featured brands:

Astrolite® is a premium brilliant white paper of unmatched fiber formation, high opacity and dimensional stability and an ideal choice for the broadest possible tonal range in printed images.

Caress® is an elegant, mellow white paper that is smooth and creamy with a uniformly level surface. It is widely specified for photo books and archival documents.

Dulcet® is a perfectly balanced neutral white paper with a velvety smooth finish. Optimal skin tones in photographic reproduction are a hallmark of Dulcet.

As both a practical guide and source of inspiration, the new swatchbook contains a range of compelling images to show the effects of color on well-formed level surfaces of the paper. The swatchbook demonstrates that by simply combining CMYK inks you can create duotone, tritone, or quadtone effects with dramatic and exceptional results.

“Here at Monadnock, we like to say that our fine printing papers are the result of more than two hundred years of craftsmanship,” said Lisa Taylor. “We can’t wait to see how today’s designers, brands, and publishers put them to effective use in the 21st century.”
