Harvey Levenson's Tribute to Katherine O’Brien

Press release from the issuing company

While having used her skills in another vitally important area over the past few years, Katherine O’Brien left an indelible mark on the graphic communication industry.

Katherine’s writing, reporting, and wise interpretation of important events, were among the best in our industry. In the words of the late Steve Jobs when he introduced the iPad 2 in 2011 as the “intersection of liberal arts and technology,” Katherine O’Brien was just that for the printing industry. With her humanistic interpretation of new technologies that kept our industry advancing, Katherine was indeed the “intersection of liberal arts and technology” for our industry in her writing and speaking.

Katherine O’Brien embodied the philosophy of technology espoused by the late Steve Jobs when he introduced the iPad 2 in 2011.

Katherine O’Brien visited Cal Poly in 2014 with Ray Prince, another recently lost icon of the printing industry, for the naming of the Raymond J. Prince Shakespeare Press Museum Resource Room.
