Richmond, Va. – Eagle Systems, Inc., a U.S. based developer and manufacturer of foil enhancement equipment, today announced that Kenmore Envelope Company, Inc. has installed an Eagle Cold Foil module on their KBA Rapida 106 LED UV press. The installation, completed in March, enables Kenmore to offer services and capabilities no has can in the highly-competitive direct mail segment.

“In just the last few years, we’ve enriched our production capabilities with over $12 million of new printing and folding technology,” notes President and CEO Scott Evans. “We’re dedicated to exceed every other operation’s in-house competencies, ensuring our people have the most efficient and effective tools in the market. Clearly in direct mail, standing out and getting noticed is the critical objective. Now with the Eagle Cold Foil module, Kenmore is elevated to a whole new level, especially in terms of speed to market, color quality, cost-control and pricing.”

Specializing in flat-sheet lithography, and flexo printing (in addition to design / prepress converting services), Kenmore has evolved into a leading American litho envelope converting industry provider. Their clients include many of the top firms in the banking, telecom, automotive and non-profit markets across the US, as well the advertising agencies supporting these markets. The company has enjoyed 8% to 10% revenue growth since 2010, with a record 2020 of over $31 million. Scott Evans graduated to President and CEO of Kenmore Envelope in January 2019. Prior to that, he served as the Vice President of Sales growing the company over 450% during a 14 year span.

“We’ve carved out a niche among direct-mail firms producing various quantities of high-quality flat-sheet litho envelopes, especially where speed [5 to 6 day turnaround] is critical. Working with the industry’s fastest production sheetfed press [KBA Rapida 106], and now the Eagle Cold Foil system sitting on top of it, we can easily say ‘yes’ to clients and agencies looking to upscale their projects. It really differentiates us from any other production house,” adds Evans.

“Eagle came highly recommended to us from our long-time distributor Koenig & Bauer (KBA). We followed Eagle’s industry success for almost a year before we actually reached out to them. After just our second meeting we signed on. The installation and training went flawless, very smooth, and less than a week later we were up and running. Our same press operators are now also our cold foil operators due to the ease-of-use of their system. In a very short time, Eagle has become a true partner, someone we can rely on. We are already planning to integrate another press in the future. I can’t say this enough… Michael King [Eagle CEO] is the man. And Cold Foil is Mike King.

“Traditionally, personalization, QR codes and other value added enhancements techniques such as embossing, spot UV, soft touch, specialty coatings have been there to help clients stand out. And often in the past we used Hot Foil, but due to production turnaround and cost issues, only about 5% of our clients were interested. With Eagle cold foil, we’ve got the next great option, really helping clients significantly shine. We’ve only just begun the marketing campaign and yet clients are already wowed. And, we’re also hearing from packaging companies looking to outsource work. Eagle Cold Foil is already paying major dividends.”
