Ikon and Imagex.com Unite in e-Procurement Alliance

Press release from the issuing company

Valley Forge, Pennsylvania—February 27, 2001—IKON Office Solutions, Inc. (NYSE: IKN) today announced a strategic alliance with ImageX.com®, Inc. (NASDAQ: IMGX), a technology market leader in Web-enabled design and printing services. Through the alliance, IKON's Digital Express® 2000, a turnkey, Web based document management and print e-procurement solution, will now be offered in conjunction with ImageX.com's customized print offering for branded office stationery and business cards, with IKON handling corporate documents, technical and training documentation, software manuals and directories. "Through this arrangement, IKON and ImageX.com are each leveraging their core competencies to bring to market a competitive, full-service offering in the print e-procurement space," said Barb Pellow, IKON's Senior Vice President of Marketing. "Our combination of clicks, bricks and mortar meets the needs of customers who are increasingly migrating to a Web workstyle." According to The Gartner Group, 40 percent of print procurement will be handled via the Internet by 2003. To capitalize on this market opportunity, IKON and ImageX.com have shown industry leadership in developing solutions that will enable their customers to manage repeatable print orders via the Internet — conveniently and efficiently. "This agreement is consistent with our corporate strategy to expand our market presence by collaborating with companies that can offer additional value to our Fortune 1000 customer base," said Rich Begert, President and CEO, ImageX.com. "IKON is known for its solid offering of print products and services, and this alliance will help further expand both companies' ability to fully serve customers online."
