Schreiner ProTech Develops Nameplate Protection Solution for Heavy-Duty Machinery and Equipment

Press release from the issuing company

New Color Laser Film HighResist guards against nameplate readability deterioration in harsh manufacturing conditions and work environments.

Blauvelt, N.Y. – Schreiner ProTech, a Germany-based global leader in developing and manufacturing innovative functional labels with value-added benefits for the automotive and engineering-based industries, has developed Color Laser Film HighResist (CLF HighResist), a protective solution for nameplates of heavy-duty machinery and equipment. Combining stability and flexibility, CLF HighResist guards against the deterioration of nameplate readability that can occur in harsh manufacturing conditions or work environments, such as construction zones.

Industrial tools and machines are persistently subjected to severe physical stress, including temperature fluctuations and mechanical effects like shocks, abrasions and other impacts. For instance, welding equipment is constantly exposed to flying sparks, dust and heat when utilized at construction sites. Like the equipment itself, markings must withstand adverse ambient conditions, as they are essential to identifying a tool or machine. To ensure that high-grade nameplates remain intact throughout the equipment’s lifetime, they must be highly durable.

CLF HighResist builds upon Schreiner ProTech’s original Color Laser Film’s ability to withstand exceptionally high temperatures, scratches and inclement weather with even higher levels of scratch resistance and protection against severe mechanical stress. CLF HighResist also offers strong UV ray protection and adhesion stability.

The new solution also is customizable. Additional security and authenticity protection features such as microprinting can be integrated, and customized shapes also are available. For premium contrast, markings are performed using various NIR (near-infrared) lasers (e.g. Nd:YAG, Nd:YVO4, Yb-Faser). Cutting to size and marking can be performed in a single process step, and marking takes place inside the material composite under the protective over-lamination layer, resulting in zero emissions.

When using pre-cut CLF HighResist, the process is completely emissions-free and therefore suitable for application in controlled environments.

“The new CLF HighResist solution exemplifies how Schreiner ProTech consistently focuses on the total system – in other words, how our products can add value to the items for which they are designed,” said Doug Stubbs, Sales Account Manager for Schreiner ProTech. “We are also committed to our customers’ ability to incorporate our solutions as seamlessly as possible. This is why we have a team of experts available to assist in the rollout of laser technology, and to offer advice regarding the selection of suitable laser marking systems. We also can perform optimal settings tests, as well as program marking lasers.”
