Press release from the issuing company
Orlando, FL, February 11, 2001 – GretagMacbeth, the leading color management solutions provider, today announced a strategic partnership with ILFORD Imaging, a developer and manufacturer of digital/inkjet products and photo printing technologies. Under the agreement, ILFORD will incorporate GretagMacbeth’s ProfileMaker 3.1 into their digital imaging offerings. ILFORD will enable photo imaging customers to utilize best-of-breed color management solutions to increase overall photo, scanning and reproduction quality and productivity. The announcement was made at the Photo Marketing Association show currently underway in Orlando, Florida.
“Developing and implementing a reliable color management system requires an extensive, highly-coordinated effort," said Francis Lamy, Vice President and General Manager, Digital Imaging at GretagMacbeth, "Our reseller partnerships depend on our technological leadership as critical components to this process.”
Digital imaging techniques have recently required more powerful color management tools that have become an essential part of today’s digital workflows. GretagMacbeth’s ProfileMaker 3.1 utilizes innovative color technology to accurately profile flat panel and CRT displays, compare reference and measurement data, and calculate ICC profiles. ILFORD Imaging will offer ProfileMaker to its customers to eliminate two major issues that photo imaging labs often have to deal with – high waste and low productivity. ProfileMaker will be included in ILFORD’s solution offerings to ensure a consistent high-quality color output from its photo and wide format inkjet products.
“We continue to be impressed with GretagMacbeth and its products," said Steve Coomber, Director of Marketing at ILFORD Imaging. "In what is an intensely competitive market, GretagMacbeth’s ProfileMaker solution enables us to offer the best color management solution available to our customers. GretagMacbeth has proven its reputation for understanding and optimizing color with their steady stream of exceptional products.”
