American Calendar Company Grows Business with Install of Fujifilm J Press

Press release from the issuing company

Addition of J Press 720S enabled American Calendar Company to Cut Print Lead Times in Half

Hanover Park, Ill. – FUJIFILM North America Corporation, Graphic Systems Division announced the installation of its inkjet press, J Press, at American Calendar Company, a family-owned business based in Greeneville, Tennessee, that manufactures and distributes customized promotional calendar products.

To accommodate the growing demand for smaller, shorter runs, American Calendar Company turned to Fujifilm to install the J Press, which has contributed to the company’s growth by significantly cutting lead times, and offering new customization options.

“Our decision to purchase the Fujifilm J Press was rooted in our desire to provide more value to customers through offering products previously unavailable,” said Brandon Kilday, co-owner, American Calendar Company. “With the addition of the J Press, we’ve been able to launch three new products just this year, and gain new business from existing, and new customers.”

The J Press enabled American Calendar Company to offer a competitive advantage of shorter, high quality print runs (as few as 100 or less pieces), at a low cost.

“Fujifilm's J Press equips us to gain a competitive advantage by being able to fulfill customer expectations and offer cost-effective short print runs by cutting our turnaround time in half,” said Brandon Kilday, co-owner, American Calendar Company. “This new timeline has afforded us an additional three weeks in our prime season for meeting customer demands.”

Additionally, the J Press has introduced many new capabilities for American Calendar Company to showcase and sell. For example, with the J Press, the company has the ability to offer full color for the same price as black and white, and offer customers the option of changing an image on every page of the calendar, without added costs.

“The J Press allows us to take the next step in providing advanced printing options for our customers,” said Miles Kilday, co-owner, American Calendar Company. “The technology provides new capabilities for us to meet high-volume short run needs with quicker turnaround times and better pricing. We are able to offer our customers the option to do full color at a more attractive price than others, and we can now offer our customers the option to fully customize each page.”

With the addition of the J Press, American Calendar Company intends to expand its offerings into additional markets with products including posters, pocket folders, and short-run digital packaging.

“We are pleased to provide American Calendar Company with a solution that can maintain the quality their customers expect,” said Ed Pierce, product manager, FUJIFILM North America Corporation, Graphic Systems Division. “Our customers across the United States rely on the J Press to provide the quality of an offset press, with the versatility to handle short and larger press runs alike, with color consistency and repeatability that Fujifilm is known for.”

In addition to investing in J Press, American Calendar Company acquired Fujifilm XMF print workflow software, to power their entire shop and improve efficiencies and productivity by operating through a single workflow.

“Working with Fujifilm was an easy decision for us because the J Press and XMF fit seamlessly into our existing production and finishing lines,” said Brandon Kilday, co-owner, American Calendar Company. “With the way loyalty goes in today’s world, you had better be on you’re A game, and we anticipate that our customers over time will realize they can get better quality with our solutions.”
