Thomas A. Steiner Friend and Industry Leader Passes Away
Press release from the issuing company
Advance Business Graphics is saddened to announce the sudden passing of Mr. Thomas A. Steiner on January 29, 2001. Tom was former President and Chairman of the Board, and a very popular, well-respected leader in the forms, document and information management industry for over forty years. All will truly miss him. While Tom officially retired from ABG in September 2000, he remained an integral part of the ABG family and an important factor in the strategic direction of the company.
Tom's career at ABG spanned twenty-three years, holding key positions of Vice President Sales, Vice President and General Manager, President and finally Chairman of the Board in 1995. With a reputation as a hands on leader and change agent for companies and the industry he served, Tom had been increasingly involved in IBFI, the trade association for the forms and document industry, since joining the association in 1982. He was three-time past chairman of IBFI's International Board of Directors (1996-1998) and a member of the industry's Black Leaf honorary society. In 2000, Tom was honored with the IBFI Lifetime Achievement in Leadership Award. This award was given to Tom for his dedication, support and guidance in the governance of IBFI. He also served on the advisory Board for the Graphics Communications Department of Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo.
