FREEHOLD, N.J.---Jan. 25, 2001--Piranha, Inc., (OTC BB:BYTE), an innovator in data compression technology, today announced the sale of Piranha Byte 1.5, its compression solution for print and publishing firms, to the Matrix Group in Tampa, FL. The Matrix Group is a retailer that specializes in sporting goods and is relying on the Piranha science to help streamline the production of its catalogues. "The new release of Piranha Byte(TM), version 1.5, has caught the attention of all those who require efficiencies and handle a lot of images in the print production world," said Larry E. Greybill, Piranha's president. "This is another example of how cutting-edge technology can help progressive companies cut costs and increase efficiencies in these challenging times." Piranha technologies include solutions for the Internet and streaming video worlds as well. The company has said that it expects to be cash-flow positive by the end of the first quarter, its fifth quarter of existence.
