Mactac® Partners with DNP to Enhance Portfolio of UL Approved Durable Films with Thermal Transfer Ribbon

Press release from the issuing company

Mactac® is partnering with DNP Imagingcomm America Corporation to enhance its existing portfolio of Underwriters Laboratories (UL) approved durable films with thermal transfer ribbons.

The partnership includes the addition of DNP’s new V300 thermal transfer ribbon to Mactac’s MH26726 UL file for printing materials in the United States (PGJI2) and Canada (PGJI8). The film-ribbon combination has been approved for label suitability and compliance with ANSI/UL 969 and CSA C22.2 No. 0.15 testing standards.

“Mactac is honored to have the opportunity to continue our partnership with DNP and offer customers safe, compliant, best-in-class labeling solutions,” said Kim Hensley, senior marketing manager, Mactac Performance Adhesives. “By selecting the approved Mactac/DNP combinations, printers and converters can ensure compliance for displaying required safety information on UL-certified products. Additionally, no further label testing is needed.”

Technical Sales Manager for DNP Brian Marazza adds: “DNP’s partnership with Mactac stretches across the globe and dates back to the early stages of thermal transfer printing. Having UL recognition allows us to offer a complete solution to our converting and distribution customers who require compliance. In addition to UL recognition, V300 can help customers using multiple Mactac receivers by consolidating to just one ribbon solution.”

Mactac Durable Film Products are high-performance adhesive labels designed to resist extreme hot and cold temperatures, moisture, UV light, and chemical exposure. DNP’s V300 thermal transfer ribbon is formulated with a unique raw ingredient to provide superior versatility, printing on everything from paper to polyester at high speeds and low energy settings. It features excellent mechanical durability and resistance to alcohols like methanol and isopropanol.

The film-ribbon combination is intended for durable goods and industrial labeling applications, such as power tools, appliances, electronics, compliance labels, and warning and instructional labels. Labels can be used to identify products, track or relay information, and instruct/warn consumers about proper product usage.
