HP Indigo 100K and HP PageWide T240 HD with H&B Web Coater Solution Receive 2020 InterTech™ Technology Awards

Press release from the issuing company

HP Inc has received prestigious 2020 InterTech™ Technology Awards for the newly released HP Indigo 100K Digital Press for its “new engineering and the dramatic speed increase,” in addition to the recently launched HP PageWide Web Press T240 HD and inline H&B ExcelCoat ZRW Web Coater solution.

The HP Indigo 100K, the first press in HP Indigo Series 5, is designed to deliver highly productive, on-demand digital printing to allow print service providers to capture new business growth opportunities. Engineered to deliver tens of thousands of B2 duplex sheets per day, the HP Indigo 100K press provides the look and feel of offset.

“Judges were impressed with the new engineering and the dramatic speed increase. The HP Indigo 100K press breaks through perceived productivity constraints for a B2-format digital press. The InterTech Technology Awards recognize technologies that are truly innovative and likely to make a significant impact in the printing industries. That’s a high threshold, but one the judges felt the Indigo 100K press passed,” said Jim Workman, vice president of Technology and Research for PRINTING United Alliance.

These awards from the independent judging of PRINTING United Alliance, the largest printing and graphic arts association in the United States, recognize technologies that are transforming the graphics communications space.

“We are honored by the PrUA recognition of the HP Indigo 100K Digital Press,” said Haim Levit, Vice President and General Manager, HP Indigo. “Today, more than ever, speed-to-market, quality and nonstop productivity and efficiency are key to the success of commercial printers with medium to large volumes. We are proud of the industry recognition for the newest generation of our technology, and particularly, of the positive feedback and impact it is already having at customers sites.”

In addition, the H&B ExcelCoat ZRW combination Web Coater inline with HP PageWide Web Press T240 HD received an award for “delivering extraordinary productivity with a touch of luxury,” further driving the HP portfolio of inkjet solutions in the Direct Mail segment.

“To receive an award a technology must be innovative enough to excite the independent panel of judges. That was certainly true of the tight integration between HP PageWide T240 HD and H&B ExcelCoat Web Coater. The ability to apply coatings inline at top speed and quickly switch between coatings will make inkjet even more attractive for direct mail applications,” said Workman.

The ExcelCoat ZRW was created as an exclusive, fully automated simplex/duplex inline 22” wide post coater. This coating system is capable of running either aqueous (AQ) or UV cured coatings giving print service providers the best opportunity to meet customer’s ever-increasing demands and needs for post coated media.

“Our team at Harris & Bruno is ecstatic with the results of this print & coat combination. The technical teams at HP and H&B collaborated efficiently to bring this dream to reality. The ability to seamlessly add scuff resistance and a host of coating enhancements to print will enable HP to dominate the direct mail and higher end inkjet web markets,” said Nick Bruno, President of Harris & Bruno.

“With this innovation, we elevate beauty and profitability for our print service providers who are constantly in search of creative, new ways to captivate consumers and ensure brands stand out from their competition,” said Carles Farre, Vice President and General Manager PageWide Press. “The ExcelCoat ZRW web coater combined with an HP PageWide Web Press is that mighty differentiator and having it in your fleet enables you to capture new opportunities.”
