R.R. Donnelley Wins Contract Renewal with Red Herring

Press release from the issuing company

CHICAGO, R.R. Donnelley & Sons Company [NYSE: DNY] announced today that Red Herring Communications renewed its contract with the communications services company. Terms of the contract were not disclosed. The magazine is the United States' fastest-growing publication, with circulation up 500 percent from two years ago. R.R. Donnelley has produced Red Herring, a magazine about business and technological innovation, since 1997. Over the course of the relationship, the print run has grown from 100,000 to 500,000 copies. In October, Red Herring also doubled its frequency. To accommodate this new schedule, the magazine worked with R.R. Donnelley to adopt completely digital computer-to-plate (CTP) production using PDF file formats. "Our transition to CTP and a more frequent production schedule demanded substantial changes in the way Red Herring operates. R.R. Donnelley's commitment to outstanding customer service and quick turnaround time helped us make the change with confidence," explained Fran Fox, vice president of manufacturing, Red Herring. "Their ability to accommodate our evolving needs and the value-added services they provide will continue to be important as we move into our next stage of growth."
