GPO Named Most Valuable Employer During COVID-19 Pandemic

Press release from the issuing company

Washington, D.C. − The U.S. Government Publishing Office (GPO) has been named a winner of the Stevie® Awards for Great Employers. GPO won a Silver Stevie® Award for Most Valuable Employer in the COVID-19 Response category for GPOSAFE, a plan for working in the era of COVID-19 and beyond. The Stevie® Awards for Great Employers recognize the world’s best employers who help to create and drive great places to work.

“This honor is a testament to the work we have done during the coronavirus pandemic to make employee health and safety our top priority while continuing our 159-year-old mission Keeping America Informed,” said GPO Director Hugh Nathanial Halpern. “It was important to us to have a plan to keep our teammates safe, informed, and paid during the pandemic. During what was perhaps the greatest disruption to agency operations since the Civil War, GPO teammates continued providing customer service to Congress, the White House, and Federal agencies.”

More than 700 nominations from organizations of all sizes were submitted for consideration in a wide range of categories. GPO competed with companies such as Aflac, Consumer Reports, and IBM for Most Valuable Employer.
