Idealliance Announces First International LIVE ONLINE G7® Training

Press release from the issuing company

Alexandria, Va. – Idealliance is proud to announce that their popular in-person G7® training has been newly designed to accommodate an online environment, and registration is open for the first live online class, July 20-24, 2020. The course, which is five consecutive half-days of live online instruction will be taught in English to international participants. Those who successfully complete the course will receive G7® Expert or G7® Professional certification.

“COVID-19 has changed the way we work, and in fact has increased the demand for G7 Experts and G7 Professionals,” said Dick Ryan, acting CEO, Idealliance. “Quarantine and stay-at-home orders have made in-person press checks impossible, which has increased the value of G7 certification. Brands are starting to demand it because they know they can get the color they expect from a printer without having to leave home. As such, we have completely revamped our G7 certification to be able to take the training live online.”

One difference to the online training is that hands-on activities will ask participants to utilize their own color management tools & solutions for first-hand implementation experience on how to drive G7 in their print supply chain. To aid in the activities, a samples kit containing printed test forms commonly used for G7 Master Facility Qualification and G7 press calibrations will be shipped to every participant prior to the training. In addition, registration also includes a free temporary license for Curve4 and complimentary access to the Color Management Professional® Fundamentals online training, provided in advance of the live training.

“We believe it’s important to support color management leaders in their journey to become G7 Experts,” said Jordan Gorski, Idealliance Senior Vice President. “We have done everything we can to provide an extensive practical training in an online environment, including live support from leading G7 Expert trainers, live hands-on activities, and collaboration between all participants as they discuss real-world print applications and learn to implement G7 throughout their print supply chain.”

The new International G7 Expert Certification Training Course curriculum also includes:

  • Job-shop exercises customized for leading color measuring devices and G7 certified software like Curve 4, SpotOn, PressSign, and others.
  • “How To” videos to support essential exercises and post-course skill sustainability
  • Live G7 press calibration simulation

The course is open to color management and process control experts, content and media creators, press operators and pressroom supervisors, prepress supervisors and technicians, quality assurance managers, printing hardware and software technology providers, brands and brand owners, leading print and packaging consultants, and anyone who manages color quality around the world. Class size is limited to ensure direct support by Idealliance’s certified G7 Expert trainer and technical staff.

G7 is the industry-leading standard for near-neutral and visual uniformity across all print technology. It aligns the global print supply chain through print alignment specifications and strategies—which reduces production cost and time—and print quality and consistency across the entire supply chain. G7 aligns Print Anywhere®.

“G7 has helped us reduce costs, save time and gives us superior quality, for our clients, by helping automate color management with consistent results across multiple devices and facilities,” says Jason O'Leary, G7 Expert and Digital Color Analyst for Merrill Corporation.

Idealliance will continue to provide private and public onsite G7 Expert Certification events where regional travel is possible.
