New PrintNation CEO Comments on Staff Reduction, Reaffirms Service

Press release from the issuing company

IRVINE, CA - As reported early this week, PrintNation, the first and largest online supplier to the commercial printing industry, has named Robert Locke Chief Executive Officer of the company. Locke, who possesses substantial executive experience in the printing, technology and financial industries, will succeed founders Tony and Freddie Seba. The company also announced a reorganization. The reorganization includes a 47 percent reduction in staff, trimming the number of employees from 75 to 40. It does not affect the PrintNation online store, which continues to offer its wide selection of equipment, supplies and paper at competitive prices. "The company is in excellent financial condition, but we couldn't justify keeping staffing at the current levels." Locke explained. Locke has also initiated a strategic assessment on how best to enhance PrintNation's position in the market. "We are committed to understanding the needs of printers, and to building technology-based solutions to meet those needs. With that purpose in mind, we will be reaching out to printers through focus groups, roundtables, surveys and interviews to better understand what their problems and concerns are." Robert Locke started his career in sales at IBM in 1981. In 1989 he co-founded Watermark Press, a commercial printer in San Francisco. In 1997, Locke founded Kelmscott Communications with Bob Corbolotti and David Pacini of Capital Strategies Group. Since leaving Kelmscott in April of this year, Locke has been a Venture Partner with J.P. Morgan Capital, Kelmscott's lead investor.
