ROTOCON Installs Three UV Ray Systems in South Africa

Press release from the issuing company

All three systems upgraded older MPS flexo presses at JMB Labels and another customer in Johannesburg.

Cape Town, South Africa – ROTOCON has successfully upgraded three older MPS 8-colour flexo presses in Johannesburg with the installation of three UV Ray Atom systems. The newly installed UV Ray systems at JMB Labels and another label printer provide significant lamp cooling savings plus improvements in curing quality and productivity.

Leading the sales and technical discussions was Patrick Aengenvoort, Director of ROTOCON who explains the reason for the upgrades: “Both customers wanted to retrofit their presses with a better performing UV curing system due to lamp faults causing down time in production. From my years of experience in the printing industry and our partnership with UV Ray, I could help guide our customers to make the best decision and configuration for their production environment.”

ROTOCON’s experienced technical engineers removed the previously installed systems and installed the new UV Ray Atom systems which they customized to meet specifications of both customers. Other label printers in South Africa have also retrofitted their flexo presses with UV Ray systems, with installation and service provided by ROTOCON.

UV Ray is an Italian company with 20 years’ experience in producing state-of-the-art dichroic reflectors that balance energy efficiency and reliability. Using less energy for better curing, UV Ray systems provide solid power stability and job repeatability due to superior lamp performance and control, while significantly reducing energy costs and carbon emissions.

The new lamp design of the UV Ray Atom system generates considerably less heat resulting in higher lamp efficiency and longer life. Very simple to operate, the system can be fitted and custom-made for any new or existing flexo, offset or letterpress press.

“We did extensive market research and found the UV Ray system suits us best because of guaranteed performance and energy savings,” said Aslam Monia, Owner of JMB Labels. “Another reason is our great relationship with family-owned ROTOCON who always goes the extra mile. ROTOCON has well trained engineers with international back up that service our MPS flexo and ROTOCONTROL finishing machines very well.”
