Impress Communications Wins Two Gold Ink Awards

Press release from the issuing company

Chatsworth, CA (October 08, 2008) -Impress Communications ("Impress"), a top San Fernando Valley -based commercial printer and visual communications company, has won two awards in this year's 21st Annual Gold Ink Awards competition that recognizes the best printing in North America, judged on the basis of print quality, technical difficulty and overall visual effectiveness.

Out of 1500 submissions, Impress nabbed the pinnacle GOLD award in the Direct Mail Envelope category for their Quarterama project, a colorful die-cut self mailer promotion piece featuring precise spot gloss UV and complex four-color coverage.

Impress also won a PEWTER award in the Rigid Packaging category for their execution of an eye-catching gold foil and UV coated Baker Maid Biscotti Box with domed locking top. Impress Executive Director Paul Marino notes the packaging win is particularly gratifying because the distinctive baked goods enclosure previously won national recognition for its innovative product packaging design, and now it has been judged a winner in print execution as well. A delighted Marino says, "This is what Impress is really good at – specialty printing and custom product packaging."

Judging duties were handled by top graphic artists, production managers and print buyers. Award winners will be highlighted in the October 2008 issues of Publishing Executive and Printing Impressions. A complete listing of Gold Ink winners appears at www.goldink.com.
