The March Roundup is a bit of a grab bag: 9 press installations from 8 different vendors serving 6 different market segments. The majority of the activity (6 presses) was in the US with one each in Belgium, Canada and Spain.

Looking inside the grab-bag you’ll find some interesting applications including collated educational flashcards, direct-to-can printing, direct-to-garment and our old friends labels,  direct mail, commercial printing and lots of books.

Several companies were bringing on additional presses. Pulmen Producciones Digitales installed their second Screen Truepress in 2 years and Summit Direct Mail added a 4^th line. Mercury Print Production added a Konica Minolta AccurioJet KM-1e to their Landa environment. Solucan is adding a second Tonejet Cyclone 4 and saying “Yes, You CAN with inkjet.”

Formats included narrow web up to wide web, B1 and B2 sheet (no B3 this time) plus pallets and “direct-to-stuff” formats (pallets and can grippers.) This is a big change from last month where almost all of the installs were continuous. Screen had the only report of multiple presses.

We expect that a few more 2022 installations will finally go public in the next couple of months and we will look forward to sharing those. We have been hearing of a few companies delaying their press installations because they can’t get paper for the press that they have ☹.
