Fourth quarter is looking extremely healthy at many companies. We have 33 press install announcements to report! The trend this month is for multi-press deals, so we are looking at 12 installation sites (companies), eight in the US, and one each in Germany, the Netherlands, India, and China. Let’s look at who is trading in multiples:
- Fujifilm is delivering 10 JPress 750s presses to Tomato Cloud Technology in China. Adding these to the 4 already installed will make TCT the largest JPress user worldwide once all are in place.
- HP is bringing 7 new presses to IWCO in Minnesotta including multiple T490HD and T250HD presses . Five will be installed in 2022 and 2 already delivered (see below)
- Monotech has placed 6 of its JETSCI® Global KolorSmart+ UV label presses, which sport 6-colors (W+CMYK+O), at Shreeram Industries in Gujarat, India.
- MCS has delivered two of its Merlin presses to Graphcom in Pennsylvania
But wait there’s more! Overall, there were six sheet fed presses tracked including two B1, one B2, and three B3. Also seven roll fed devices including , four 2-up, one 4-up a narrow web and a roll-pack system.
From an application perspective, the bulk of activity was in the commercial space both by sites and number of devices. We also saw two sites producing books and three focused on direct mail – but, not surprisingly, there was cross-over among those groups with companies deploying their inkjet presses in multiple quality sensitive application sets. Strong activity in packaging and labels also with 2 different Durst SPC130 installs, the 6 press Monotech label deal and a Domino in Des Moines.
