Wayne Peterson joins Trend Offset Printing in key strategic role
Press release from the issuing company
LOS ALAMITOS, CA -Aug. 23, 2007 - Veteran printing industry sales and marketing executive Wayne Peterson has joined Trend Offset Printing in a key newly created position that will develop customized business solutions for strategic national partners.
As Trend's Business Solutions Developer, National Accounts, Peterson will focus on securing long-term success formulas for multi-title publishers and Fortune 1000 companies. Peterson will report to Tom Denton, executive vice president of sales and marketing of Trend Offset Printing, one of the largest commercial printers in North America.
"We have set out to build our company with the best and brightest individuals in the industry, and Trend has fully realized our goal with this addition," Denton said. "Wayne is a rare find; a constant, forward-thinking, consultative resource with a long track record. Trend and Wayne will make a fantastic combination for customers across North America!"
A California native who began his career in the printing industry at age 13, Peterson has 30+ years of experience in sales, marketing, operations and general management.
"Obviously I'm very excited by the role Trend asked me to undertake," said Peterson, who will be based in the Washington, D.C., area. "There couldn't be a better opportunity for a marketing guy than to leverage the unique manufacturing platforms Trend has in California, Texas and Florida, and to create high-value, client-specific business solutions.
"There's nothing ‘me too' about how Trend approaches the marketplace. The service offering is as unique as the business model. Trend has an incredibly powerful balance between being highly entrepreneurial and highly disciplined. For clients, that translates into tailored solutions for real needs that create substantial value. And that's great fun."
In 1990, Peterson formed and was president of the Sequoia Consulting Group Inc., a successful marketing and management consultancy serving firms in the printing industry. He then joined the executive team of Judd's, serving as chief marketing officer and as senior vice president/marketing and sales for the Judd's book division. Peterson then joined United Litho Inc., an operating company of the Sheridan Group, in 1997 and served as vice president, sales & marketing for nine years prior to being promoted to vice president of magazine sales for the Sheridan Group upon the formation of Sheridan Magazine Services.
"To start with the client's needs and objectives, a blank piece of paper, and to create a service offering specific to only that one client is exactly the right approach now," Peterson said. "Trend's leadership gets that concept, and it provided the motivation to create my new role. The value we can create will allow us to earn and deserve the relationships that result."
