Version 8.1 is focused on streamlining DITA content management and collaboration by introducing more flexible project creation, enhanced file comparison and merging capabilities, and new AI-enabled features through integration with the Oxygen AI Positron Assistant 5.0.

Publications from existing DITA-OT project files can be easily imported and used for editing and validation context.
- Advanced File Comparison and Merge: The updated file comparison and merging tool now includes a Differences View, allowing users to easily track replies and new review comments. The ability to ignore white-spaces enables focusing on meaningful content differences, rather than cosmetic formatting changes, enhancing productivity and accuracy in document reviews.
- AI Positron Assistant 5.0 Integration: Users can attach Word, PowerPoint, and PDF files for contextual information to provide context in AI interactions. The AI-powered DITA document conversion and topic analysis features enables restructuring and updating content efficiently, improving documentation clarity and organization.
- Customizing AI Actions: Custom AI actions can be developed or existing ones filtered to suit specialized use cases. An external text or Markdown file may be leveraged for prompts, enabling streamlined AI-driven content generation, translation, and restructuring.
- Updated Components: Oxygen Content Fusion 8.1 includes the latest Oxygen XML Web Author 27.1.0 for visual XML editing and Oxygen Publishing Engine 27.1, both of which bring further performance improvements and security updates.
