(Bainbridge Island, Washington) The first interactive book for graphic communication, Introduction to Graphic Communication, is entering its seventh year of publication.
Having been the first interactive PRINTED textbook in the printing, publishing, packaging, and related fields, the book has been adopted by approximately 25 schools, and by industry for training new employees just entering the field.
Harvey Levenson, Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, Professor Emeritus and co-author, said: “The book has sold well over 4000 copies and has become the most popular textbook for graphic arts education and industry. The book is not only about technology, but IT IS technology.”
John Parsons, principle of IntuIdeas, publisher, and co-author, said: “It’s amazing how broadly accepted the book has become for teaching and training. It has gone through four reprints and video updates to keep the book current.”
Having been the first textbook in any field to use Ricoh‘s Clickable Paper app, the book has now become further simplified by converting from the Ricoh app to a QR Code, requiring no downloading for anyone having a mobile device, such as a smart phone or tablet.
The book features technology and management information covering traditional and digital printing that prepares anyone to enter the graphic communication industry. It includes technology demonstrations, as well as video discussions by some of the leading authorities in the field.
