LogoJET Wins THREE SGIA Product of the Year Awards

Press release from the issuing company

Lafayette, La. – LogoJET is proud to announce that Specialty Graphic Imaging Association has named three LogoJET products as 2019 Product of the Year in their respective categories, including the top award for Digital Inks, Tabletop Flatbed and UV/Latex Flatbed (under $70,000).

SGIA’s Product of the Year evaluates products that are, or will be, available for sale in 2019. A highly qualified panel of judges from across the printing industry evaluated the annual contest’s 200+ entries in 72 categories spanning analog, digital, output and non-output technologies.

“When I started LogoJET more than 15 years ago, my goal was to develop a better way to print on golf balls using inkjet technology. Since then we have grown from one desktop model to a full line of UV, Solvent and edible ink printers and can print durably on just about anything,” said Susan Cox, LogoJET CEO.

In response to continuous demand for more advanced printers with more durable inks, LogoJET launched its current line of UVx40Rand UVx90Rprinters, according to Cox. The units are based on industrial-duty Ricoh print heads and both received the 2019 SGIA Product of the Year. After nearly a year of testing, in 2019, LogoJET also released its new H2UV curable inks, incredibly durable and vivid line of ink, which also received the SGIA 2019 Product of the year.

“We are grateful to SGIA for their recognition of the great work the LogoJET team is doing. We will continue to push the bounds of digital inkjet technology” Cox said.

For SGIA’s competition, printers were judged based on research and reports generated by the Sonoco Institute at Clemson University.

“This is the only competition I know of that reports on the percentage of Adobe RGB a printer can hit,” said Ray Weiss, Director of Digital Print Programs, SGIA. “We’ll display the reports alongside the entries in the Awards Gallery at PRINTING United in October.”

Weiss said that one of the things he likes best about the SGIA competition is that it is juried — and judges are basing their decisions on objective criteria.

“And with outstanding entries like LogoJET’s newest ink and printers, they had their work cut out for them,” Weiss said. “The Product of the Year competition represents the best of the best among commercial hardware, software, consumables, and industrial and screen equipment. Congratulations to all the winners.”

All entries will be displayed in the Awards Gallery at the inaugural PRINTING United show on October 23-25 in Dallas. Award winners will receive their Product of the Year jewels in a special ceremony the evening before the expo floor opens.
