Spectrum Printers Installs Xeikon Digital Color Press

Press release from the issuing company

Xeikon DCP 320 D Boosts Profitable Short Run Business and Enhances Service to Long Run Customers Wood Dale, IL (July 11, 2002) - Xeikon America announces the sale and installation of a Xeikon DCP 320 D digital color press at Spectrum Printers of Tecumseh, MI. Spectrum, a full service commercial printer with offset and bindery capabilities, will use the press to enhance its business in short run and variable data printing applications. The Xeikon press will immediately be utilized to print short run jobs such as brochures and catalogs. "With a Xeikon press on our floor we can offer our customers exactly what they need, exactly when they need it," says Andreas van Staveren, President of Spectrum Printers. "For example, we have a customer with a brochure running 25,000 on an offset press for the end of the month. But they need only 500 of that same brochure by the end of the week. Now we can print that part of the job to seamlessly match the longer offset run. Installing a Xeikon press significantly expands our commercial printing business." The Xeikon DCP 320 D prints 130 pages per minute and proves to be an ideal solution for the speed and high quality Spectrum requires. The web fed configuration also gives the company the format flexibility it requires for a variety of booklet and brochure sizes and shapes. "Xeikon’s web fed configuration is ideal because it gives us unlimited possibilities for the image length of a printing job," says van Staveren. "The One-Pass Duplex feature delivers printing speeds unparalleled in digital printing. The addition of the Xeikon to our commercial printing capabilities is a highly profitable expansion for our business."
