Bowne Completes $175 Million Revolving Credit Facility

NEW YORK, July 9 -- Bowne & Co., Inc. today announced completion of a new $175 million, three-year revolving credit facility to replace a $300 million facility that has expired. The proceeds will be used for general corporate purposes, including Bowne's continued diversification into a fully integrated global provider of high-value document management solutions. This new facility is in addition to the $75 million private placement of senior unsecured notes completed with several institutional investors and announced in February 2002. Seven banks are participating in the revolving credit facility, including Fleet National Bank, Agent; Wachovia Bank, National Association, Syndicate Agent; JP Morgan Chase & Co., Documentation Agent; Royal Bank of Scotland PLC; HSBC Bank USA; Firstar Bank, N.A.; and The Bank of New York.
