Prisma Graphic Expands Flexibility with New Promatrix 106 CSB from Heidelberg

Press release from the issuing company

Kennesaw, Ga. – As a marketing service provider, Prisma Graphic has a wide variety of diverse customers with a range of individual needs. With the company’s recent installation of the Promatrix 106 CSB from Heidelberg, Prisma Graphic now has the increased flexibility it needs to expand its capabilities and has positioned itself for future growth in the folding-carton market.

35% Increase in Productivity
After reviewing its workload, Prisma Graphic of Phoenix, Arizona discovered that 85% of its packaging jobs required diecutting, stripping and blanking, so the company decided to replace its older diecutter for the new, automated Promatrix 106 CSB. Whether it’s packaging for cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, hospitality or food, Prisma Graphic is able to cover all of its needs due to the high flexibility that the Promatrix offers.

“We needed a machine that was going to balance our workload between our packaging, online, and traditional print jobs,” said Bob Anderson, CEO of Prisma Graphic. “The Promatrix is great because it allows us to do all of the diecutting and packaging jobs we need to do quickly and efficiently both in short and long runs.”

Only a few months after installation, Prisma Graphic has already seen a 35% productivity increase. With the machine’s non-stop feeder and delivery as well as the plate logistics system in the delivery, the Promatrix CSB eliminates stops between pallet changes while still being able to process pallets with typical pile heights found in the folding carton environment.

Makeready times are shortened through motorized adjustment of the cutting pressure along with the pneumatic locking systems in the cutting and stripping station. The machine also includes a pre-makeready table and a chase changer. With these features, Prisma Graphic has seen makeready times cut in half. When blanking, tie sheets are inserted to automatically give the pile more stability to be transferred to the next production process.

“It’s so much more efficient,” said Anderson. “We are able to set up another job while having our current job running. Once that job is done, we can have our next job going directly to makeready.”

Upmost Quality Machines from Heidelberg
All new equipment has a learning curve for employees, so the faster the employees understand the machine, the better. With the easy-to-use Heidelberg Promatrix, Prisma Graphic employees were able to quickly train on the equipment and understand the technology at a fast-pace. Now the team members are happy running the equipment, and customers are proud to work with a reliable machine.

“With the name ‘Heidelberg’ behind the Promatrix, customers know they are going to receive the upmost quality,” said Anderson. “When Heidelberg puts its name on it, you know you have a reliable piece of equipment.”
