Heidelberg’s Versafire CV Expands Print Shops’ Capacity and Capabilities

Press release from the issuing company

Kennesaw, Ga. – Companies are increasing their capacity, productivity, and efficiency with the Versafire CV 5-color digital press with exclusive Prinect Digital Front End from Heidelberg.

Florida Trade Graphics Streamlines Throughput

Florida Trade Graphics of Pompano Beach, Florida recently installed the Versafire CV as an addition to their primarily Heidelberg print shop. With the new superior digital press, they are able to be more productive and expand their capabilities, such as printing five colors including white, clear varnish or fluorescent neon yellow. Florida Trade Graphics also added a booklet making in-line finishing module for enhanced efficiency.

“It speeds up my process immensely,” said Denny McNaney, President of Florida Trade Graphics. “We have eliminated a lot of operations in postpress. It’s much easier to do everything in one step rather than two.”

The Prinect Digital Front End (DFE) also saves Florida Trade Graphics time formatting jobs as everything is in one place in the Cockpit. Thanks to the integration between the DFE and their existing Prinect software, Florida Trade Graphics is able to have a true “hybrid” workflow. This means they are able to drive both offset and digital with one interface, so all operators from any cockpit can send jobs to their Suprasetter CtP, Versafire, or both while the entire job is centrally stored.

The Versafire CV gives Florida Trade Graphics a competitive advantage by printing outstanding quality. Innovative laser technology on the digital press delivers razor-sharp, high-resolution images and creates consistent sheet-to-sheet color and registration. The banner feeder on the digital press allows Florida Trade Graphics to do larger format digital printing on sheets up to 27” in length.

For 31 years, Florida Trade Graphics, Inc. has been printing and binding exclusively for the printing trade only. Their printer clients count on their integrity, production times and schedules along with top quality workmanship from experienced operators and top of the line equipment.

Corcoran Printing Increases Capacity Up To 50 Percent

Previously using competitive technology that constantly broke down, Corcoran Printing of Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania switched to the Versafire CV to increase capacity by 25-50%.

“We were really frustrated with the downtime our previous press forced us to have,” said Bill Corcoran, President of Corcoran Printing. “With the Versafire, we no longer have to worry about jams. The registration is consistent, there’s no skewing, and all of these factors have contributed in increasing employee morale. Our employees are so much happier working with this press.”

Corcoran Printing is a popular shop for small-run print jobs, so it was important to have a press that would have the quality, speed, and ability to print cost effectively. Printing 90 letter pages per minute, Corcoran Printing is also able to customize each sheet based on what the customer wants.

When it came to the final decision on purchasing the Versafire CV, Corcoran trusted in their experience with Heidelberg. Being a customer since the 1950s, they reflected on consistently receiving state-of-the-art technology with every purchase.

“Heidelberg is a world leader, and the durability of their machines is definitely worth the investment,” said Corcoran. “The reliability of the service is always there; the quality of the machine is always top-notch. The only regret we have with the Versafire is not purchasing it sooner.”

Corcoran Printing is a full-service, award-winning commercial printer that has been providing the highest quality printing services to clients since 1940. They utilize state-of-the-art digital technology to offer a wide array of products, from business cards, full color flyers, brochures, foil embossed booklets, posters and much more. Corcoran Printing’s courteous and professional staff gives personal attention to each and every project, and the graphic design and mailing capabilities allow them to assist customers from concept through delivery.
