Press release from the issuing company

Pageflex's Mpower product provides back-end power to the Webb/Mason enterprise print management system BALTIMORE--June 11, 2002-- Webb/Mason, an enterprise print management provider, recently developed a partnership with Pageflex, Inc., a developer of on-demand document composition solutions, to provide clients with enhanced variable data publishing capabilities. Webb/Mason's Enterprise Print Management Online (EPM Online) will now feature the backend support of Pageflex's Mpower product that enables web-to-print marketing and the delivery of customized printed materials. For the past ten years, Webb/Mason has been working with companies to develop enterprise print management solutions that streamline and centralize the procurement of printed materials. Enterprise Print Management Online (EPM Online) allows users to release items from inventory, customize and order stationery, business cards, brochures and promotional items. Additionally, Webb/Mason's online service allows buyers and managers to review real-time inventory data, receive automated reorder notifications, track orders and ensure brand integrity throughout an organization. To augment this process, Webb/Mason has contracted with Pageflex to utilize the Mpower technology for the customization of simple to complex marketing collateral and one-to-one marketing campaigns that can be printed on demand. "Incorporating Pageflex's technology into our Enterprise Print Management program provides our customers with expanded possibilities when developing one-to-one marketing programs," said Brian Fritsche, chief information officer of Webb/Mason. "Mpower enables our end users to incorporate variable data publishing into practically any type of printed materials including marketing, sales and human resources materials." Pageflex Mpower is a premier Web-to-print enterprise solution. Mpower is based on NuDoc, a robust XML-based composition engine developed by Pageflex. Mpower uses flexible design templates incorporating "spring-loaded" text and image containers thatdramatically adjust page layouts based on sizes and shapes of the variable text and images flowed into them. Webb/Mason's EPM Online software allows customers to personalize these templates over the web, send customization information to Mpower using XML, and use Mpower to provide real-time customized proofs in a variety of graphic formats. The on-line templates can have an unlimited number of pages, each with variable data, graphics, and business rules. "We are pleased that Webb/Mason has selected Pageflex's premier Web-to-print Mpower technology to drive the production of sophisticated one-to-one marketing collateral," said Sang Lee, vice president of sales and marketing for Pageflex. "By incorporating Mpower, Webb/Mason further increases the value that their Enterprise Print Management Online offering brings to their wide-range of customers."
