Adstream Releases Quickprint Pro 5.6

Press release from the issuing company

New York, NY –  Adstream America, the US subsidiary of London-based Adstream Holdings today announced a game changing upgrade to their long-standing desktop print production software, Quickprint Pro – aka QP Pro.  Sporting a completely rebuilt code framework, Quickprint Pro 5.6 runs nearly twice as fast as previous versions of the software and boasts new technical features that solves costly problems in transmitting data through the print production workflow, lowering costs and saving time.   The jobs of print producers, studio operators and their managers just got a lot easier.

With this release, Adstream introduces the concept of a “Closed Loop Manufacturing” platform.  In Adstream's model, critical job and insertion information flows seamlessly through each stage of the production chain electronically -  gone is the need for redundant email, easily lost spreadsheets and late night phone calls to move information from a publisher through a print producer or project manager into the production studio to get an ad done and sent to the publisher.   Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) in QP Pro link it to Adstream's Global Specifications  Database, the MediaLink Electronic Ticketing System, and to Adstream's Global File Delivery Service, creating a unique print production support platform.

“By itself, QP Pro with its API to the Global Specs DB is a potent tool for print production of nearly every kind', said Adstream's Technical Mgr for Print, Kirk A. Brauch.  “The database supports specs for publications, OOH, Point-of-Sale and even direct mail templates, which, when accessed by the QP Pro plugin tells the layout application(s) the page dimensions of the ad unit to build.”

Brauch elaborated further: “However, the real magic comes into play because this workflow is totally electronic.  A publisher's production specification information is retrieved from the Specs db, passed through the print producers as an e-ticket, then sent into the studio to build and validate press ready files using QP Pro, which then embeds the job ticket data in the pdf.  This “smart” file is then delivered through Adstream's global network, via web or automated desktop software;  into an ftp site; and in some cases, directly into a publisher's ad portal.   From the publisher's specs through production and delivery of the press ready file back to the publisher, the loop is closed, resulting in press ready files with a savings of 30% or better in time and cost.”

Integrating Adstream's platform with production management systems extend the capabilities of the concept even further, giving agencies greater flexibility in managing a print campaign.

“Every dollar saved in production extends the value of print advertising” stated Adstream's newly appointed National Sales Director, Ian Belzar.  “One of our jobs is helping agencies and brands extend their value in all things print.  Our closed loop manufacturing platform does just that.”
