Print Media Academy offers international trainings conducted in Germany

Press release from the issuing company

The Print Media Academy (PMA) of Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG (Heidelberg) offers two international practical trainings, which will be conducted in Germany: Print Professional and Print Experience take a hands-on approach to explain innovative applications and new technologies - both in the classroom and in a pressroom environment.

Globalization is opening up many new opportunities for printing companies. But in order to seize them, printers have to continually invest in their own skills. Print shop employees - as well as teachers and those working for printing industry suppliers - require excellent knowledge of the processes and practical workings of Prepress, Press and Postpress, in addition to commercial and business skills. To meet these needs, the PMA is offering Print Professional, a training program that conveys the latest practical knowledge on printing processes and modern technologies. And the brand-new program Print Experience, a training program that provides participants with practical knowledge in German printing companies.

Print Professional: New technologies and applications in the focus
Print Professional pays equal attention to providing a solid theoretical base and hands-on practical experience and targets employees in print-shops and suppliers. What is learned in the classroom is put into practice in the pressroom: Participants experience all processes first-hand, from designing a print product across print preparations and printing to finishing.

Attendees are directly familiarized with different printing techniques, special applications, for instance inline coating and today's industry software. Field trips to printing companies and binderies and also to the factory of Heidelberg in Wiesloch-Walldorf and to the PMA in Heidelberg round up the program.

The content of each course is flexibly tailored to the participants' level of expertise and personal training goals. Since the number of participants is limited to 15, the teachers can address particular needs and wishes. On request, individual courses can also be arranged. The course offerings are available in English and German. Five experienced teachers including master printers represent different disciplines and subjects. Prominent experts also make guest appearances.

Every training will take place in Münster, Germany.

Duration and dates:

4 weeks course: February 28 - March 25, 2011
3 month course: April 11 - July 1, 2011, September 12 - December 2, 2011
6 month special course: on request

Course fee:

Starting at 1,068 Euro per week incl. all meals, hotel, transfers and excursions.

Print Experience: Practical training in German print-shops

Participants from print-shops and suppliers will learn in carefully selected German print shops how the production processes will work in reality. They will have the chance to learn all detailed processes starting with designing print products up to the finishing. Afterwards the participants should be able to adapt the knowledge to their own companies in their home countries. Field trips to the factory of Heidelberg in Wiesloch-Walldorf and to the PMA in Heidelberg will round up the program.

Duration and dates:

Print Experience includes a 4-week course in the format of a hands-on training in a German printing company. In addition, the participant has the opportunity after completing the course to visit the Print Professional training in order to extend his knowledge to a higher level. The duration of the Print Experience program is flexible.

Course fee:

5,500 € for a 4-weeks training, including seminar fee, accommodation and beverages.
