All New PrintOne Store 6.0 Available from Printable Technologies!
Press release from the issuing company
May 16, 2006 -- Printable Technologies, Inc., the world leader in Web to Print (W2P) workflow and Variable Data Printing (VDP) solutions, today announced the general availability of PrintOne Store 6.0, the next generation of its end-to-end Web to Print solution.
With a new architecture and code-base, PrintOne Store 6.0 is designed for maximum flexibility and the ideal combination of retail e-commerce ease of use and deep corporate procurement functionality. PrintOne Store 6.0 is an "n-tiered architecture" where the presentation, business logic, and data access layers have been separated, resulting in a more a more flexible user interface and workflow. The new code base makes database access, product development, custom development, and maintenance faster, easier, and more cost-effective.
"Development of print procurement software as a service presents some unique challenges, and PrintOne Store 6.0 is designed to address them now and in the future," said Joe Fedor, Director of Product Marketing for Printable Technologies. "With PrintOne Store 6.0, we continue to strive to strike the ideal balance between the ease of use that corporate end users want and the print spend tracking and accounting features that corporate management demands, all while maintaining the link to the print production workflow that printers require."
In addition to the new advanced architecture and code base, Printable Technologies has added new features to PrintOne Store 6.0 that continue to set it apart from other web to print software applications, including:
New User Interface - The standard look and feel of PrintOne Store 6.0 has been significantly upgraded. The interface provides a familiar retail shopping experience to end users, including built-in catalog options such as a tree view for catalog navigation, and list views and grid views of catalogs.
New Retail-like Workflow - Online ordering is common practice, and the PrintOne Store 6.0 presents a familiar retail-like workflow, while retaining the advanced procurement features required by corporations, such as cost center tracking, multi-level order approval, inventory managements, and spending accounts.
Language Localization - PrintOne Store 6.0 is available in English, German, Italian, Spanish, French and Dutch. In addition, the standard English text on a customer site can be customized or localized as well.
Quick Order - Products can quickly and easily be added to an order by simply entering quantities and choosing "Add to Cart" in a process that is much streamlined over previous PrintOne versions, perfect for bulk ordering of print on demand (POD) products or printed products held in inventory
Kitting - Print service providers may now offer product "kits" comprised of print on demand (POD) items, inventoried items, and customized items.
Text Profile Attributes and Impersonation - By creating profile attributes, users can store both text and images in a profile and simplify the customization of printed products in the future. Rather than requiring that the user enter the same information repeatedly to customize various products, PrintOne Store 6.0 automatically populates forms with the user’s stored information. Select corporate end users can be given access control of other users’ profile attributes and individual profile attributes can be made editable or not. In addition, PrintOne Store administrative users can "impersonate" other users to allow "ordering by proxy."
Address Books - PrintOne Store 6.0 users can construct both Corporate and Personal Address Books. Corporate Address Books provide end users with access to corporate directories for shipping and billing, and Personal Address Books manage individual users' own locations and billing information.
