Dunn Replaces Winther As Heidelberg USA President

KENNESAW, Ga. – July 19, 2004 – Heidelberg today announced the departure of the head of its North American business operations, Mr. Niels M. Winther. Effectively immediately, the management of all sales, service and support functions provided by Heidelberg's largest sales and service unit, Heidelberg USA, Inc., will be assumed by Mr. James P. Dunn.   Mr. Winther, an employee of Heidelberg for more than 30 years, has expressed interest to leave the organization and pursue other opportunities while spending more time with his family. He has been recognized for his leadership by customers and associations alike in the United States, Canada and many other countries around the globe. Throughout his career with Heidelberg, he has embraced a philosophy of leadership, education and support for professionals throughout the entire print media industry, all with focus on the customer.   Mr. Dunn, who has been responsible for the holding company that supports all of Heidelberg's North and South American activities, is expected to make a seamless transition into his new role. His extensive knowledge of the industry and of the Heidelberg group will serve him well as he takes on his new responsibilities. Mr. Winther will remain available to Heidelberg during the transition phase and will continue to serve Heidelberg and the industry in every capacity necessary.   "We want to thank Niels for his great support to both Heidelberg and the print media industry over the years," said Heidelberg Chief Executive Officer Bernhard Schreier. "We are also most pleased that Jim will take up the task of guiding the sales and service activities in the U.S. market. Jim's many years of experience with Heidelberg will serve him well in this capacity."   Mr. Dunn has held numerous positions throughout the Heidelberg community spanning more than three decades of service and leadership around the globe, including President of the Heidelberg Americas shared services division and Chief Financial Officer of Heidelberg Web Systems,   Born in 1949 in New Jersey, he attended Boston College, Newton, Mass., and received a bachelor's degree in Business Administration, majoring in Finance in 1971. Mr. Dunn is an active member in national industry-related organizations and local charities in his home town in the metro-Atlanta area, where he enjoys a variety of recreational activities, along with what he considers to be his natural pastime, being a father to his two daughters.   "Our continued efforts to better serve our customers and the United States print media industry has and will always remain the core focus of each and every decision we make," said Mr. Dunn.  "Having been given this unique opportunity, I'm thankful to all of our customers, business partners, and employees for their well wishes to both Niels and myself."
