GMG Exhibits Color Management Systems for Proofing at IFRA

Press release from the issuing company

basysPrint, ppi Media AG feature GMG technology Tuebingen, Germany - From 14th ˆ 17th October 2002 at Ifra, Barcelona, GMG, a leading developer and supplier of high-end color management solutions to the worldwide commercial prepress market, will be demonstrating its highly usable and cost-effective proofing technology producing quality digital color proofs on a wide range of printing devices, on a number of stands. GMG ColorProof is the most accurate way of calibrating a digital inkjet proofing engine to produce digital contract color proofs, precisely color-matched to the actual printing press. The successful new DotProof option for GMG ColorProof, enables the output of digital halftone contract proofs complete with original screen data on Epson and Hewlett-Packard large format ink-jet printers. Since output can be on newsprint stock too, this feature is of particular interest for all newspaper publishers. Customers will be able to view GMG ColorProof and GMG DotProof technology on GMG's own stand (Stand 1220) outputting accurate digital proofs on the Epson 7600 and HP 1050. Other companies demonstrating GMG's proofing technology include: - basysPrint (Stand 970): the basysPrint UV-Setter? Computer-to-Conventional-Plate (CTcP?) system features GMG ColorProof software with DotProof option on Epson's new 10600 printer. - ppi Media AG (Stand 975): ppi Media is one of the leading developers of newspaper workflow solutions. ppi Media and GMG will announce a close cooperation and worldwide distribution agreement, under which ppi Media will provide GMG's proofing solutions to the newspaper market, with a high level of integration into ppi Media's workflow solutions. The GMG ColorProof software with the DotProof option will be demonstrated on an Epson 10600 printer.
