Quark Introduces QuarkDMS Web Site Manager

Press release from the issuing company

BARCELONA, Spain (Ifra Expo) -- October 14, 2002 -- Quark Inc. today introduced new software that lets companies publish Web sites from Quark Digital Media System (QuarkDMS). QuarkDMS Web Site Manager allows companies to operate a single content management system for both print and Web, thereby saving time and avoiding expensive integration efforts. QuarkDMS Web Site Manager adds functionality to QuarkDMS to support typical Web site creation workflows. It provides a media repository for all stages of Web workflow, from content creation to testing and the final publication of content. QuarkDMS Web Site Manager provides easy access to all of an organization's digital content, stored in one central location. QuarkDMS Web Site Manager can import all of the content and files of an existing Web site into QuarkDMS, while retaining all file relationships, asset metadata, and site structure. The files are stored, versioned, and maintained in QuarkDMS, making it easy to find and re-purpose content from existing files. Web sites can be developed, staged, and published using QuarkDMS. The new QuarkDMS Web Site Manager software recognizes four stages in Web content publication: development, testing, review, and live publication. While the servers in each state might contain content in different stages of production, QuarkDMS Web Site Manager avoids the publication of erroneous content by automatically versioning all files published to the Web site. It tracks the last-published versions of files for each server state and avoids the need for costly backup scenarios. Web sites can be published and updated manually or automatically based on asset metadata. QuarkDMS Web Site Manager extends all of the security features of QuarkDMS to Web content. Administrators can control access security by determining the specific assets that a user can view, check out, modify, or delete, and assign different settings for asset files and attributes. QuarkDMS Web Site Manager also provides audit trails for both assets and users. An asset's history shows actions taken on that asset, as well as the user(s) and dates of the action. Availability QuarkDMS Web Site Manager can be purchased directly from Quark. Customers in North America who are interested in QuarkDMS can e-mail: [email protected]. In Europe, e-mail: [email protected].
