KPG Asks GRAPH EXPO Visitors: How Can We Help You?

Press release from the issuing company

Customer partnerships, custom solutions and effective results on display in Booth 4406 Chicago, Illinois, USA - Kodak Polychrome Graphics (KPG) demonstrates its commitment to strong customer partnerships at Graph Expo 2002. In an 8,500 square foot display, KPG asks visitors to Booth 4406, "How Can We Help You?" and features products and services created to deliver consistent color throughout the workflow, including a complete range of digital and conventional plates, color proofing and management products, software and film. A team of KPG professionals dedicated to listening to attendees, answering questions and offering solutions will be on hand. KPG is making the customer's point of view the focus of its exhibit. KPG's display features a series of testimonials from graphic arts professionals across the U.S. that verify how KPG helped them lower costs, reduce waste, save time and increase profitability. "We want to serve as the trusted, innovative partner that companies turn to for superior products and expert guidance across the spectrum of today's rapidly evolving graphic arts market," said Andrew Copley, President, KPG Americas. "We look forward to the opportunity that Graph Expo presents to have a dialogue with our customers and potential customers about their business objectives and ways in which KPG can support them." KPG's approach at Graph Expo reflects the company's emphasis on listening to the marketplace, understanding customer needs, identifying market trends and offering custom solutions. Among other issues, feedback that KPG has received recently indicates the continuing steady conversion to computer-to-plate (CtP) technology, the increased importance of color consistency and management, as well as a growing interest in digital printing. "When we were considering a move to CtP, KPG made our decision easy," Sharique Ansari, Managing Director, Digicon Imaging, Inc., in Buffalo, N.Y. is quoted as saying in one of the displays in KPG's booth. "By researching our print requirements and our customers, KPG made sure we selected the right platesetter, processing line and imaging media." For attendees like Ansari, KPG features an extensive lineup of thermal CtP solutions. At Graph Expo, KPG launches the Scorpion line of thermal waterless printing plates, including the Scorpion X54 and Scorpion X54 Plus. Also on display will be the SWORD Thermal Printing Plate and Thermal Gold Printing Plate. Introduced at PRINT '01, these two plates have won wide acceptance, with hundreds of companies now benefiting from their productivity. KPG also will provide a technology demonstration of a write-the-image, switchable polymer, no-process thermal CtP product that also eliminates the need for pre- and post-baking. KPG's portfolio of conventional plates will also be featured. Led by the best-known names in proofing, Approval and Matchprint, KPG brings the graphic arts industry's most complete color management range to Graph Expo, with technologies spanning analog, digital halftone, inkjet and virtual proofing. KPG's lineup includes the Matchprint Inkjet Proofing System series, which features two new products, Matchprint Inkjet Proofers 5542 and 5560. Other proofing options on display include the First Check Desktop Proofing System for packaging designers and commercial printers, the Kodak Approval XP Digital Color Proofing System with new White and Blue Donors, the Matchprint Digital Halftone Proofing System, the Matchprint Virtual Proofing System, as well as the trusted analog option, the Matchprint Proofing System. For digital printing applications, KPG will feature the new Matchprint Professional Server Version 3.0 on both a Canon CLC 1180 and on the Xerox DocuColor 12. The Matchprint Professional Server won an InterTech Award in 2001. In September, KPG announced an agreement under which Canon will offer the Matchprint Professional Server Version 3.0 for use with its CLC 1140 and 1180 color laser copiers/printers. Rounding out KPG's product portfolio at Graph Expo are its industry-leading film products, including Kodak DryView Recording Film and Kodak Premier Recording Film. "By combining our extensive offerings in plates, proofing and color technologies, and film with professional expertise across the graphic arts spectrum, KPG is poised to serve as a resource for attendees at Graph Expo—and after the show—for customized solutions," added Copley.
