Xerox Production Devices Receive 10 Industry Awards

DocuColor iGen3 Digital Production Press Earns Five Distinctions CHICAGO, Oct. 8, 2002 – Xerox Corporation (NYSE: XRX) continued to assert its award-winning reputation and announced today it has received 10 top honors for Xerox color and monochrome production systems. The award-winning products include the latest introductions in the Xerox color production line, the DocuColor iGen3 Digital Production Press and the DocuColor 6060 Digital Color Press, as well as the long-successful DocuColor 2000 Series Presses and DocuColor 12 Printer. Awards included: - The "Best of the Best" Award from the International Association of Printing House Craftsmen (IAPHC) for "Chalk / Butterfly" created on the DocuColor iGen3 Digital Production Press. - The "Gold Ink" Awards, jointly sponsored by NAPCO Publishing’s Printing Impressions and Print Media, for output created on DocuColor 2045 Digital Color Press, DocuColor iGen3 and DocuColor 12 Printer. - The 10th Annual Hot Products Awards, sponsored by PennWell Corporation’s Electronic Publishing, for the DocuColor iGen3 and DocuColor 6060 Digital Color Press. - The "Must See ‘ems" honors from the Graphic Arts Show Company (GASC) and PrintCom Consulting Group for the Xerox Booth and the DocuColor 6060, and a "Worth A Look" distinction for the DocuColor iGen3. "The Xerox name continues to be synonymous with quality, and these awards underscore that fact," said Ursula M. Burns, president, Xerox Document Systems and Solutions Group. "The honors are a testament not only to our product innovations but also to the consistent quality of output they produce." IAPHC’s "Best of the Best Award for Emerging Technologies" went to the DocuColor iGen3 Digital Production Press’s inaugural customer, Mercury Print Productions. The IAPHC Best of the Best Awards are a competition among the organization’s Gallery of Superb Printing Award gold winners, in which top entries from numerous categories compete for highest honors. NAPCO’s Gold Ink Awards presented four prizes to honor print pieces created by Xerox products. Xerox customer Automated Graphic Imaging printed the gold-winning piece on a DocuColor 2045 Digital Color Press. Both the silver and bronze-winning pieces were produced on the newly introduced DocuColor iGen3. The silver-winning piece was produced by the Xerox Color Center, and Mercury Print Productions created the bronze-winning piece. The pewter winner was printed by Kinko’s on the DocuColor 12 Printer. The 10th Annual Hot Products Awards, sponsored by Electronic Publishing, were granted to both the DocuColor iGen3 and the DocuColor 6060. Each year Electronic Publishing recognizes products and technologies that represent the best the industry has to offer. The Must See ‘em and Worth A Look Awards were presented to two Xerox products and to the Xerox booth. The Xerox DocuColor 6060 and the Xerox booth were awarded a Must See ‘Em, while both the DocuColor iGen3 was awarded Worth A Look distinctions. Both the Must See ‘Ems and the Worth A Look awards are given out at the Graph Expo Conference and Exhibition. The awards are given in individual technical and process categories to products that exemplify compelling innovation. The award-winning Xerox products are on display at the Graph Expo Trade Show and Conference, through Oct. 9 at Xerox booth No. 1016.
